- 🥐 The Bites? Just right. Pastries, breakfast treats, and snacks to keep you fueled.
- 🛋️ The Vibe? Warm and welcoming. Whether you're working or unwinding, it feels like home.
- 🧦 Rock Your Socks! Ever wonder why people wear mismatched, colorful socks today? It’s a fun and easy way to start conversations about Down syndrome. The idea is simple: differences should be embraced, not hidden—just like how people with Down syndrome bring their own unique strengths to the world. Plus, let’s be real — life’s more fun when your socks don’t match.
- 💙 Support Local Organizations. Groups like the Down Syndrome Association of Northeast Ohio work year-round to provide resources, advocacy, and a sense of community for individuals with Down syndrome and their families. Whether it’s volunteering, donating, or just spreading awareness, every little bit helps!
- 😊 Spread Kindness. A smile, a conversation, or even taking a moment to learn more about Down syndrome can make a huge impact. Today is all about celebrating abilities, not limitations.
- ✅ Declutter first, clean second – Less clutter means less to clean!
- ✅ Work room by room – Tackling everything at once = instant burnout.
- ✅ Use natural cleaners – Vinegar + baking soda = magic.
- ✔️ Haven’t used it in a year? Donate it!
- ✔️ Broken or outdated? Toss it!
- ✔️ Too big to haul? Call Black Diamond Junk Removal and watch the clutter disappear.
- HUDSON Sign Proposal – The Leadership Hudson Class of 2024 is behind the idea of installing a large, interactive “HUDSON” sign for photos. While they originally considered downtown Hudson, public feedback suggested a better fit at Hudson Springs Park. The board, however, asked them to also evaluate Veterans Way Park as a potential location.
- Spring & Summer Upgrades – The board reviewed several upcoming projects, including:
- Parking lot expansions at Barlow Farm Park (spring) and Hudson Springs Park (late summer).
- A new playground unit at Colony Park is on order and will be installed this year.
- Trail connectivity improvements between Barlow Farm Park and Wood Hollow Park are in progress.
- New shade structure coming to the splash pad at Veterans Way Park this spring.
- New Golf Clubhouse – The new Ellsworth Golf Club clubhouse is finally taking shape, with an August completion target.
- Pickleball Illumination – Lighting installation for six courts at Barlow Farm Park is moving forward, with bids set to go out in April.
- Fishing & Boating Upgrades – The board is looking into expanding accessible fishing areas and plans are still in motion for a new kayak dock at Hudson Springs Park.
- The board will meet again in May, with a focus on:
- Finalizing priorities for 2025.
- Exploring the feasibility of the dog park with Dr. Bestic.
- Choosing an alternative location for the Inclusive Playground (if necessary).
- ⚾ Baseball – Kicking off the season in style... in Florida! First game is March 28 in Cocoa Beach.
- 🥎 Softball – Opening day is March 31 on the road at Wadsworth.
- 🎾 Boys Tennis – Home opener March 31 vs. Stow—come out and support!
- 🥍 Girls Lacrosse – First game April 1 away at Roosevelt.
- 🥍 Boys Lacrosse – Playing under the home lights against Jackson on April 2.
- 🏃♂️ Track & Field – Hitting the ground running at Twinsburg on April 9.
- 🏐 Boys Volleyball – Next up: April 1 at St. Edward.
So grab your favorite brew (hot or iced—because the weather can’t decide either), get cozy, and let’s dive in! ☕❄️🌸

🎤 Hudson Park Board Meeting Recap – Big Moves for Parks, Playgrounds & Pups!
The Hudson Park Board tackled a jam-packed agenda, covering park improvements, playground updates, and a potential new dog park. Here’s the latest scoop:
🏞 Park Upgrades & Improvements
🐶 Dog Park: A Game-Changer?
Could Hudson finally get a dog park? Dr. Daniel Bestic, a local veterinarian and owner of The Veterinary Center of Hudson, has offered a piece of land for consideration. The board plans to review the location with him before the next meeting. Dr. Bestic, who is also involved with youth soccer in Hudson, emphasized the need for a well-regulated and controlled dog park. Stay tuned!
🎠 Inclusive Playground Hits a Snag
The highly anticipated Inclusive Playground planned for Middleton Park is now facing a major funding shortfall. A $850,000 federal grant from Congresswoman Emilia Sykes' office wasn't included in the latest budget. The city isn't giving up, but alternative backup locations with existing infrastructure—Hudson Springs Park and Barlow Farm Park—are now under consideration to reduce costs.
