ā˜€ļø The Scoop on Hudson Weather

Spring in Hudson is like a mood ring—changing by the hour. And this week? We’ve got the full set: showers, sunshine, chilly mornings, and maybe even a flurry or two.

Thinking of swapping boots for flip-flops? Maybe hold off a little longer. Layers are still your best friend.

Here’s what Mother Nature has in store for Hudson over the next few days ā¬‡ļø

    • šŸŒ¦ļø Today – A passing morning shower; otherwise, breezy with considerable clouds. High: 47°F | Low: 30°F (A little sun, a little rain—classic Ohio. Think of it as a weather sampler.)
    • ā›… Tuesday, March 25 – Chilly with some sun. High: 42°F | Low: 29°F (Sweater weather continues. Keep that warm drink handy.)
    • ā˜ļø Wednesday, March 26 – Low clouds and chilly. High: 43°F | Low: 30°F (The sun's playing hide and seek. Bring a hoodie. Regret nothing.)
    • šŸŒ¤ļø Thursday, March 27 – Sun and some clouds. High: 50°F | Low: 34°F (A peek of sunshine to brighten your day. Enjoy it!)
    • šŸŒ§ļø Friday, March 28 – A morning shower in the area; otherwise, more clouds than sun. High: 57°F | Low: 45°F (Don't forget your umbrella—just in case.)

ā„ļø Keep an umbrella in the car, a hoodie by the door, and a smile on standby. Stay warm out there, Hudson!

ā›“ļø Island Season Has Officially Set Sail

Put-in-Bay ferry season is back! As of March 21, the Miller Ferry is officially running trips from Port Clinton to South Bass Island. That means Lake Erie breezes, island bike rides, and maybe even an early-season scoop of ice cream are just a ferry ride away.

The Jet Express schedule is also live and gearing up for departures soon, offering high-speed service from Port Clinton and Sandusky for those who want to get there a little faster.

Planning to bring a car? Be sure to check vehicle guidelines in advance. And since Lake Erie likes to keep things interesting, it's smart to double-check schedules if the weather looks iffy.

    šŸ“ Plan your trip:
    millerferry.com
    jet-express.com

The lake is calling—and island season is officially on. šŸŒ¤ļøā›“ļøšŸ¦

🚢 From Lake Erie to... Boaty McBoatface?

With Put-in-Bay ferries officially back in action, we’ve got boats on the brain—which got us thinking about one of the greatest boat-naming moments in history.

Back in 2016, the British government held a public poll to name a fancy new $300 million polar research vessel. The internet did what it does best and overwhelmingly voted for: Boaty McBoatface. Officials ended up naming the ship after Sir David Attenborough (fair), but they gave the name Boaty McBoatface to one of its submersibles. And guess what? That little underwater explorer has since made major contributions to climate science.

Sure, the Miller Ferry isn’t cruising through Antarctic waters, but it is now ferrying folks back and forth to South Bass Island—no naming poll required. And for the record, if Hudson ever launches a ferry across Lake Hudson (okay, we made that up), we know exactly what to call it. Floaty McFloatface, anyone?

Here’s to boat season, clever names, and lake escapes that don’t involve freezing temperatures. ā›“ļøšŸŒŠ

šŸŽ¬Scoop Review: Locked

How about a movie review, Hudson? If you're looking for a thriller that keeps you on edge and doesn’t overstay its welcome, then we have a new theatrical release just for you. Locked, the newly released action flick starring Bill SkarsgĆ„rd and Anthony Hopkins, delivers exactly that—and in just over 90 minutes.

The premise is simple: a car thief gets trapped inside a high-tech SUV by its mysterious owner, turning what should’ve been a quick job into a tense psychological showdown. Most of the movie takes place inside the car, which makes SkarsgĆ„rd’s performance even more impressive. Holding the screen solo for most of the film is no easy task, but he pulls it off with grit and intensity.

It’s short, suspenseful, and keeps the tension high—kind of like being in traffic on Route 91 with no escape, but way more entertaining. And yes, for a movie set almost entirely inside a vehicle, it still manages to be one heck of a ride. (see what we did there??)

Scoop Rating: šŸØšŸØšŸØšŸØ of 5 scoops
Worth the watch if you're into tight, character-driven thrillers that don’t waste time.
