☀️ The Scoop on Hudson Weather

Spring in Hudson is playing the long game — teasing us with sunshine, then throwing in a chilly curveball for good measure. This week? We’re looking at warm breezes, surprise showers, and a dash of “do I need a jacket or not?” confusion.

Thinking about packing away the winter gear? Not so fast. Layers are still the safest bet while Mother Nature makes up her mind.

Here’s a peek at what Hudson’s forecast has lined up ⬇️

  • 🌧️ Today – Considerable cloudiness and mild with a bit of rain. High: 63°F | Low: 56°F (A little rain, but nothing that a good pair of boots can’t handle.)
  • 🌦️ Saturday, March 29 – Variable cloudiness with a couple of showers; breezy and warmer. High: 74°F | Low: 57°F (Warm and breezy? Spring might be getting serious now.)
  • ☁️ Sunday, March 30 – Cloudy, breezy, and warm. High: 68°F | Low: 54°F (The clouds are back, but at least it’s not cold. We’ll take it.)
  • 🌧️ Monday, March 31 – Rain at times in the morning; otherwise, mostly cloudy, breezy, and cooler. High: 57°F | Low: 29°F (Morning rain followed by a temperature drop. Jacket weather returns.)
  • ☁️ Tuesday, April 1 – Low clouds and cooler. High: 44°F | Low: 33°F (A chillier, cloud-covered start to April. No fooling around.)

🌸 Spring’s warming up, but don’t trust it just yet. Keep the layers close and the umbrella closer. Hudson’s weather loves a good plot twist.

🎣 Updated Fishing & Boating Guidelines at Hudson Springs Park

Hudson Springs Park is ready for another exciting season of fishing and boating! With a 50-acre lake stocked twice a year with fish, it’s the perfect spot to enjoy a relaxing day on the water.

Fishing Update

The lake is stocked with fish like crappies, rainbow trout, bluegill, perch, channel cat, northern pike, and walleye. Hudson residents fish for free, while non-residents must purchase a fishing pass.

🚨 2025 Update: Fishing will be catch-and-release only this year to improve the fish population.

  • Daily Fishing Pass for Non-Residents: $10
  • Annual Fishing Pass for Non-Residents: $75 (Fishing season runs January to January)

Boating & Storage Updates

Canoes, kayaks, rowboats, and paddleboards are allowed, along with electric motors (no gas motors). Boat storage slots are available for $120 per year, running from October to October. For those not storing a boat, there’s a boat ramp on the northwest corner of the lake.

Boating Rules:

  • All boats must have life jackets for each passenger.
  • Gasoline motors are prohibited; electric motors are allowed.
  • No night fishing—park closes at dusk.
  • Boats must display a current boat slot rental sticker and an Ohio registration sticker.

🎬 Scoop Review: Black Bag

Speaking of movies, have you seen the new movie Black Bag yet? If not, put it on your Scoop To Do list before it leaves theaters! This is a taut, psychological thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat from start to finish. Think Agatha Christie vibes—there’s a small group of suspects, each with their own secrets, and you’ll be piecing together the mystery right alongside the characters. With its twists and turns, this movie keeps you guessing until the very end.

Starring the talented Cate Blanchett and Michael Fassbender, the two have amazing chemistry as a married couple caught in a high-stakes espionage web. They’re joined by a solid supporting cast, including a fun appearance by Pierce Brosnan—who, at 71, still delivers that suave charm we all know and love. Seriously, that guy is aging gracefully!

If you're into tight, suspenseful thrillers with great performances and a story that keeps you hooked, Black Bag is definitely worth the watch!
